Tent has been set up 2 times once to rain test (camera was not working to do a video on it but will try again next rainy day) stayed 100% dry in windy and heavy rain conditions. This is the absolute ultimate Backpacking, Motorcycle, Car Camping Tent. 5.4 pounds without the extras. Made for the military by Eureka! The ORC version is just not Eureka! But you can take your chances(i prefer to buy tents from companies known for making tents). The Dual Vestibule version is not as easy to get in and out of and there is plenty of room for a guy and a girl and all of your equipment so 2 vestibules are just not needed and the extra weight is not needed in my opinion. This is a much better option than the 2 person tent because it is half the weight with more useable vestibule space with plenty of room to change clothes and store all your gear (see my diamond brand combat tent review). Backpacking The South San Juan Wilderness Tube. Duration : 10.33 Mins.
AUGUST 21, 2009 - AUGUST 26, 2009 ---- A 5 night, 6 day backpacking adventure into the South San Juan Wilderness. Located in the Rio Grande National Forest in Southern Colorado. Access to this area is just west outside of the town of Platoro, CO and a couple miles southwest of the Platoro Reservoir. BEST TIME OF YEAR TO HIKE THIS AREA IS JULY OR AUGUST! June may be too early for some because of the snow drifts which make the trails hard to find. The Three Forks Trailhead starts at 10000 FT and the Conejos Peak summits at 13172 FT. An excellent 5 night, 6 day high altitide backpacking adventure for the "Moderate" backpacker. There is plenty of water all the way up to Glaciaral Lake. Above the timber line, water is scarce so pump/boil yourself some water before attempting Conejos Peak. So, you're getting rivers, lakes, creeks, trees, high peak summits, vistas, wildlife, and fishing!! Making and Using a Hand Powered Lathe Tube. Duration : 9.17 Mins.
Making a using a simple hand operated wood turning lathe, i didnt add a treadle to make it a foot powered lathe on purpose as i want to limit the components parts needed to operate it, apart from the fact, it's a HAND POWERED lathe and midway between the historical bow lathe and bodgers pole lathe, it's only ever going to be used to turn small items suchs as bobbins, stool legs etc, not bowls and other larger items, the long screw will eventually be replaced by a length of threaded rod or i might braze a T-bar to the head to make tightening and releasing the centre a bit easier.
